Northern Bay Sands Park is owned and operated by Neal O'Leary, well-known Newfoundland folk/roots singer and songwriter. Neal has released two self-produced CDs, Up All Night and While I Was Gone. In previous years, he has been nominated for the Folk Roots Artist of the Year at the East Coast Music Awards and Male Artist of the Year at the Newfoundland and Labrador Music Industry Association Awards.

Besides the beauty of the beach, Neal admires the "other worldly" appearance of the many rock formations around Northern Bay Sands. He used photos taken at Northern Bay Sands for the cover and inserts for his While I Was Gone CD, as well as for his band website: www.nealoleary.ca
